pediatric update

annie headed to the doctor today for her 15 month checkup. and, our girl was there with bells on ... well, maybe not bells. but at least a bow and a diaper.

the doctor was pleased with her stats

weight = 22 lbs, 6.5 oz (+1 lb, 5 oz)
height = 31.5" (+ .25")
head = 47 cm (+3.5 cm*)

this places her in approximately the 35th to 40th percentile for weight and 75th for height, according to the doctor.

and ... with her friendly disposition, interactive nature and sweet expressiveness, she is right on track.

the doctor reminds us to look for a big growth in her vocabulary in the next 3 to 6 months.

and maybe by then, she'll even have more than 5 teeth ...

ready for her closeup

beyond ready ... annie had her 1 year "close ups" and other assorted portraiture done back in march. technically they were her 13.5 month pictures, but for the second child, it was pretty close!

we've been waiting with baited breath for the photos to be ready ... the photographer is still editing ... and while we haven't received them all, we did get a preview.

if they're like this, we can't wait to see the rest!

Law and Order

Yesterday, Jack had a playdate with Riley, one of his best buds from school. He came home with more than good memories -- two whole sheets of Spiderman stickers!

So we ran around the house pretending to shoot webs from our wrists and swing from building to building. After a while, I pretended to accost a bad guy. "I'm going to catch him, Jack!"

"WAIT!," Jack shouted. "I can throw a brick at his face!!"

I said that I was thinking that we could capture the bad guy, turn him over to the appropriate authorities, ensure that his Miranda rights were read and that he had a fair trial with access to competent legal representation. But maybe the brick would work, too.

eating breakfast

given our recent posts ... our dear readers may think that all we do is eat!

but actually, we are trying out our new flip ultra-hd camera ... new toys = new ways to generate content ... so maybe we'll actually return to blogging on a semi-regular basis.

maybe.

but with content this cute, how could we not?

sorry it's so long ... videos really should be about :90 max, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to pare down that last :39!

the littlest tramp?

by the way ... is it just mommy, or does anyone else see the resemblance?

eating out, eating in

last weekend jack was lucky enough to be taken out for lunch by his nana in honor of what would have been his great-nana's 93rd birthday.

she never got to meet jack ... and she always maintained that she prefered having girls to boys ... but something tells us she would have gotten an enormous kick out of having this jack in her life.

so ... on saturday, mommy, jack and nana all met up up p.f. chang's for a mid-day repast. and although jack enjoyed the lettuce wrap filling and his chicken fried rice, the real treat was the fortune cookie!

he loved it so much ... he even wanted to eat the fortune!

by the way ... jack's fortune read: "the one sure thing about luck is that it will always change." which jack interpreted as: "you would have bad luck if you got an ice cream cone and your ice cream fell on the ground." who can argue with that?

after lunch, we walked a bit through the mall, and nana was persuaded to buy some chocolate-covered strawberries to be an after-dinner treat.

this time, not only jack got to enjoy .. but annie too.

and jack took clean up duty.
