the end of 5x3

while we have much to update you on -- with a visit by grandma and grandpa and jack's fourth birthday, replete with a rockin' firehouse party, today we focus on the last day of school.

jack has spent a great year progressing since he first walked into mrs. stover's class 9 months ago. he's become such a big boy, we can hardly believe it.

you can click below to enlarge the images and read mrs. stover's full assessment of jack's progress. the basics though are that he's mastered the elements of physical growth, health and self care, cognitive growth and emotional and social growth (and then some!). he still has some work to do on his small motor, but he is progressing.

but the truly interesting part are his teacher's additional comments:

Where do I begin on Jack! He is our class engine; our energy, our imagination, our conscience, and our voice. jack has had a great year in all forms of growth. I have been working with him on his fine motor skills. They will come in time when his body is ready; but he seems to enjoy trying. Jack told me the other day that we were alike because our names start with "J." Then he said, "But, Mrs. Stover, you don't make your j's right because you forget the top part!" And you know what -- he's right! Jack will do very well in the 5x4 class next year.

now, look out summer, 'cause here jack comes!
