just a mom

this morning, jack was watching "the super readers" on the pbs show super why! (one of his favorites, despite the fact that he calls it "super wide")

for those unfamiliar with the show (which is actually good -- albeit slightly annoying to paernts -- viewing for pre-readers and early readers) every episode finds the super readers needing to solve a "super big problem." and when they have a super big problem, they "look ... in a book."

today, mommy dared to interactively exhort along with them, "look ... in a book!"

jack glowered and said, "no, mama! only super heroes say that. you're not a super hero. you're just a mom."

just a mom?

not to overstate what i feel i pull off on a daily basis or anything ... but this "just a mom" beg to differ, my little boy!
