the summer of cuteness

"real" blogging doesn't seem to be much of an option for us presently ... see previous entry on running on to stand still.

and it's a shame because we have lots of memories we want to keep ... but there are miles to go before we sleep ...

so we are settling on trying to bring you "the summer of cuteness"

annie, through the generosity of friends and family, has received so many cute outfits it is unbelievable. i mean, jack was super cute too (objectively speaking), but the adorable ensembles that she has been gifted are 2 cool 2 b 4-gotten!

so ... may we present the first in (what we hope is) a series ...

mad for madras!

sorry for the poor quality pic ... still getting used to the new blackberry

work-life balance

we've heard such a thing exists.

we are still trying to locate it. we think it might be one of those things like the yeti or the loch ness monster.

with two children and two parents working outside the home, life can be pretty crazy.

optimally it seems you'd strike the balance and it would be like standing on the middle of a teeter-totter. a little shaky sometimes, and definitely requiring some effort and concentration, but more or less an even keel.

sometimes the more apt metaphor is standing on a rolling log in a pool (you know, like you used to see on those "battle of the network stars" specials). you can stay upright, but you are endlessly running to stand still and eventually even the best of them (i.e. susan lucci) fall into the drink.

all this by way of saying that we have some updates to come. and as soon as they won't make us fall off the log, we'll bring them to you.

til then, amuse yourself by googling for youtube clips of "battle of the network stars" from the '80s.

'cause work-life balance don't come with no hyperlinks ...
